I'm traveling this weekend, and my schedule has been in flux. It now appears that I'll be here on Friday late enough to run the seminar. PrTest1#20ff. Hi! At the next GRE Math Subject prep seminar, on Friday 25 September, 12:20pm-1:10pm, in Keller 3-230, I plan to continue with Practice Test 1 at http://www.math.umn.edu/~adams005/GREprep/PrTest1/ Last time, we finished Problem 19, so we'll start with Problem 20 and go from there. I expect we'll finish between 5 and 10 problems in the 50 minutes. If you can look over a few of these problems, it helps a lot. To have a sense of which ones you find hardest (and why) is useful. I suggest spending about an hour on this sometime before the seminar. While I expect to be doing most of the talking, I also hope for some discussion. Also, I'm happy to take suggestions, if anyone wants to try something else. Just drop me a line. In the past, I've tried small-group work and practice quizzing (small quizzes with, say, 5 problems). I'd be happy to do more of that at some point. Also, if anyone has specific GRE Math Subject practice problems that they would like to see worked, just let me know. Hope to see you on Friday! - Scot ************************************************************************* date: Fri, Sep 18, 2015 at 8:16 AM subject: FINAL reminder: GRE seminar meets today at 12:20pm in Keller 3-230 FINAL reminder: GRE Math Subject Prep seminar meets today at 12:20pm in Keller 3-230.
