Announcements:

  • Feb. 2: Here is the solution to Writing Quiz 1
  • Feb. 3: This is a practice test for Exam 1. I think it is a bit longer than the actual exam, but wanted to give you practice on all our topics covered. Solutions available here
  • Feb. 18: We have a writing quiz coming up on Tuesday, Feb. 21. To practice for the quiz, you might try some of the problems in Section 2.3 (both in the chapter and in the homework). Questions like 2.3: 18, 21, 26, 27, 29, might be good practice.
  • Feb. 23: Here are solutions to Writing Quiz 2
  • Feb. 26: The next Writing quiz is Tuesday, February 28, covering cardinality and induction. While homework and worksheets are the first place to look for study material, here are a couple more relevant problems from Lay's book. In 2.4: 3(b,f) and 7, and from 3.1: 8, 19, and 21.
  • March 2: Here are solutions to Writing Quiz 3
  • March 4: This is a practice test for Exam 2. Like the first practice test, it might be a little long. Solutions are available here.
  • March 10: We won't have exam scores recorded until after the break. In the meanwhile, have a look at the solution key to the second exam.
  • April 7: Here are solutions to Writing Quiz 4 and Writing Quiz 5.
  • April 8: Linked is a practice test for Exam 3. It is the right length, and tests lots of important topics, but maybe it ended up a little light in its coverage of Sections 3.4 and 3.5. Solutions available here
  • April 21: Here are solutions for Exam 3.
  • May 1: A Practice Final Exam, with solutions to be posted later in the week.
  • May 4: Here are clean copies of Exam 1, Exam 2, and Exam 3, in case you want to retake them as part of your studying.
  • May 5: Solutions to the practice final exam. (This version corrects a couple of minor mistakes on questions 1(d) and 3(b).)
  • May 9: By popular request, here are solutions to the somewhat-less-emphasized-on-the-final Exam 1.
