Categorical representation theory and Khovanov's Heisenberg category

Henry Kvinge

Abstract

In this talk I will explain some of the essential ideas that arise in the diagrammatic approach to categorical representation theory. We will use Khovanov's Heisenberg category $\mathcal{H}$ as a working example. This (conjecturally) categorifies an integral form of the Heisenberg algebra via induction/restriction functors between symmetric groups.
