Module categories with a view to Auslander-Reiten Theory

I will discuss the different representation types of finite dimensional algebras. I will focus mostly on tame and representation-finite algebras and give examples of where these arise. The goal of this talk is to motivate the study of Auslander-Reiten theory through these examples.
