Representation stability and FI modules

I will introduce the notions of representation stability and FI-modules, explaining how these give rise to coherent sequences of representations and giving examples. I will get as far as indicating that finite generation of FI modules corresponds to representation stability of a certain kind, and the theorem that FI modules are Noetherian.
