Taylor Polynomials of the Sine Function (applet) Paul Garrett, garrett@math.umn.edu

If you can read this message it means your browser is not reading the applet imbedded here. You might wish to enable Java to view this applet.

This applet graphs the sine function in red, and the Taylor polynomial approximations in white. The gridlines mark off unit amounts in both directions.
Click in the "Increase degree" box to increase the degree of the Taylor polynomial. Evidently the Taylor polynomial matches further and further out as the degree is increase, but in every case diverges wildly at some point from the actual sine function.

Click in "Reset" to start over.
