  • January 26: This is a practice quiz for Quiz 1 next week. The best way to study for the quiz is to 1) Look over homework 1, 2) Look over worksheets and examples in class, 3) Look over course notes and reading and work extra exercises related to these. If you want solutions for the practice quiz they can be found here
  • February 5: This is a practice test for Exam 1. Exam 1 will cover only chapter 1 from our textbook, while this practice exam includes a few other questions that deal with material from chapter 2. Please, for this first midterm ignore questions number 1d, 3,4 on this practice exam. The best way to study for the exam is to 1) Look over homework, 2) Look over worksheets and examples in class, 3) Look over course notes and reading and work extra exercises related to these.   • February 6: This is a second example of a practice test for Exam 1 which will be held this Thursday. Exam 1 will cover only chapter 1 from our textbook, while this second practice exam includes a few other questions that deal with material from chapter 2. Please, for this first midterm practice ignore questions 1cde,3,4 on this second practice exam and focus instead on numbers 1ab, 2ab, 5. The best way to study for the exam is to 1) Look over homework, 2) Look over worksheets and examples in class, 3) Look over course notes and reading and work extra exercises related to these.   • February 21: Here is a histogram of the scores from Midterm 1. . The median score was 82. (There were 100 points possible).
  • March 1: Here is a practice test for Exam 2 which is on Thursday, March 8th (in one week). Please note that the second midterm will focus on material since Chapter 1, going through the homework due today. That is, Exam 2 will focus on these sections: 2.1,2.2,2.3,2.4; 3.1,3.2,3.3. Note that section 2.5 will not be covered on any exam in this course. The best way to study for Exam 2 is to 1) Look over homework, 2) Look over worksheets and examples in class, 3) Look over course notes and reading and work extra exercises related to these.
